Analogues for planetary missions
F. Foucher, F. Westall, J. Zipfel, N. Bost, and the ISAR and EURO-CARES teams (presentation).
Today (January 27th) is the kick-off meeting in London (UK) of the EURO-CARES (European Curation of Astromaterials Returned from Exploration of Space) project funded from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement No 640190). The ISAR team joined this European project which endeavours to develop a roadmap for a European Sample Curation Facility for samples brought back to Earth during future space missions. ISAR is particularly pertinent to EURO-CARES Work Package 5: analogue samples as proxies for extraterrestrial materials, leaded by Frances Westall and Jutta Zipfel.
